Display your art
I was thinking of having readers of my book submit sketches of their favorite scenes and post them on my web site. Any comments on that?

Hiccup at Amazon
Yes. There was a hiccup with the availability of "The Deception of Sharmok" at Amazon.com. I had tried to reduce the page count to make a lower retail price. So the insignificant difference not warranting the change caused an unfinished status of the book. Oops!
So, now that this is being corrected, the book should be available in about two days.
Thank you for your understanding. And, I hope you still get the book and enjoy the journey.
Chris.

Our most excellent, super cool scouts of Troop 401 in Auburn,WA, had a stellar time in the mountains this last weekend. A crackling fire, gallons of cocoa, and great food, ( this time provided by the adults), and the lodge was a perfect setting for them to plan out all the outings for 2013.
The entire thing was scout lead, and adult supervised. They chose a variety of canoeing, hiking, biking, enough that they will be working on the Bicycling Merit Badge as a troop for the year, boating to a Puget Sound island, car camping, and just plain playing in the outdoors.
Flashlight tag in the dark and pouring rain concerned we adults, but when interviewed the scouts rave about it. GENERATION GAP ALERT!!!!!
The three fold service project was a success, the Saturday evening skits with Cub Pack 432 was super fun, and I need to mention the Sunday morning Chapel service went well.
Kudo's to the scouts of Troop 401. I'm very proud of you all.

Well. I'm disappointed. I was going to reduce the font of the book from 12 Pt. to 11 Pt. This would shorten the book over 100 pages and reduce the retail cost significantly... right! Wrong!!! the savings would be a whopping $1.23. Why make the changes if the price barrier is not affected?
I still am pursuing a way to get the price below $10.00, but I'm stumped. You'll love the book and fall in love with the characters. You'll glean information, laugh your sides sore, and have things to talk about, but I agree the price is steep and I get $1. per book.
How do I break this barrier? How do I get the BOOK price to less than a DVD? This is a real pickle, and I am open to ideas.

Thank you B.S.A.
I just spent a beautiful, sunny Friday and Saturday with eight other volunteers, and three trainers in Carnation, WA.
What a great group of people from diverse walks-of-life, all adding value to the lives of the youth in our communities... And adding value to the communities directly.
Thank you all for your contributions, as specially to Craig, and Mike... you Rock.

Uuhhhhh... Life parallels fiction!?
I-iiiii... did a little science project yesterday. You see, my wife bought me a home brewing kit for our 23rd anniversary. I followed the directions very carefully... and... well. At 4am this morning the brew blew-up! Every wall in the down-stairs bathroom and the ceiling was covered with the stuff. It took a full hour to clean it up properly. Laughing all the way, of course. This was the best science project EVER!!!
Adan would be proud. He blew up the... Oh! yah. You might not have read it yet.
Well at least nothing caught on fire. Whew!
Happy reading, or cleaning in my case.
Chris.

I'm working on it! I promise.
Ok! Oooo-K! I am working on the sequel. I took a little break and now I'm back at it. You my current fans are important to me and it will likely be a few months before I have a beta testable document for you to devour.
No spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 99% of people haven't read it yet.
My goal is to make you say NO-WAY! and I gotta get the prequel to see how this whole shebang got started in the first place.
Chris.
Thank you!!!
Hey a shout out for Steve, and Tim. Thank you for your glowing comments on the book. It came at a really important time, and I appreciate it very much. Oh! And thank you for spreading the word. Chris.

Yes! To answer the most recent question. The Glowing Ember Series, "The Deception of Sharmok", does have Boy Scout stuff in it. Not so much as being a how to manual, but if you look, there is practical hands on tips for things... And no. I am not going to just tell you what they are.
See! It is fun and informative. Happy reading. I hope you love it too.
Enjoy the journey.

Hi! It has been great to talk to some of you in person about "The Deception of Sharmok". I'm thrilled that this first book in the series is catching your interest and giving you a wild ride. I do try to give you glimpses of options so you won't know for sure what will happen next. Hehe!
I'd like to hear from more of you who have read it now. The sequel, "Dragon Maker", is in progress right now. Your comments could have some pull on a few decisions I still need to make in the story line. This next book will have some explanation of details from "The Deception of Sharmok", some teasers about the prequel, and more head scratching... no... hair pulling situations for you to chew on.
"The Deception of Sharmok" is still in it's first edition. I state this for the collectors who have inquired, and yes I will autograph any purchased physical book.
Enjoy the journey!
Chris Cushing
